| South Lake Wenatchee State Park on a calm weather day. |
Today, we only had 16 campsites to check on. Most were pretty clean so we were able to take a coffee break at 11 AM. We took the Jeep and drove over to the South Park since the camp store was open where they serve espresso. We visited with the owner and then checked out the beach. Today was one of the rare days that the wind wasn't blowing a gale. Kids were actually in the water though the water temp is pretty cold.

We drove back to North Park and finished up the sites in time to visit with our friends, the Sillanpaas, who had spent the night in Leavenworth. They kindly brought donuts and new crop apples for us to enjoy. They headed back to Seattle later in the afternoon.
Sonny and I took a walk to to lake. We picked up litter along the way. People do unbelievably stupid things like use doggie poop bags but then leave the full bag under a stick on the path or they crush the soda can but hide it under the bench seat. Duh!!
The wide forest trail meanders from the campground to the lake. If you are brave, you can wade across the river to the South Beach but the beach on our side is pretty nice. Water shoes are a must as the area is rocky. There is a children's playground, picnic tables and a bathroom. The loop trail is about 2.5, mostly flat, miles.

| Looks like these two trees got tangled along the way. How old can they be? |
