Second day of "work"

Sonny made a campfire last night since there wasn't any wind.  I had a s'more and then we stayed up too late watching a John Wayne movie and Clint Eastwood in Grand Torino.

Sonny woke up early and made a round of wood sales before breakfast.  A camper came by to tell us that his neighbors were up partying till 4 AM so there wasn't much sleep.  The Ranger did a drive by at 8:30 PM and a walk through at 11 PM.  Both times, he spoke to them but once he was gone, the noise began again.  They were lucky the neighbor didn't come tell us at 4 AM.  The Ranger would have then sent them out after having given two warnings.  The partiers did stop us on our rounds this evening to apologize but we weren't the ones without sleep.

Another camper was fined for not having her Discover Pass visible on the dash. She wanted us to fix that one with the Ranger since she did have the Pass but it had blown down on the car floor.  Thankfully, the Ranger came by and got that straightened out, too.

A 9 year old from West Seattle came to our campsite with two baby zucchini to give us from his garden since his family was leaving today.  We added them to our dinner fare.  He had been camping here for a week and was looking forward to a horseback trail ride before going back to Seattle.

Clint, the guy who gives us the duty roster, arrived around 8:30 AM.  We had 17 campsites to clean for today's arrivals.  We can do a site in 15 min or so.  It's a pretty dusty job since there hasn't been any rain.  There was a nice breeze to keep us cool while we worked.  Monday and Tuesday, we can expect to be doing most of the 100 sites in this park.

We finished around 3 PM, cleaned up and headed for Leavenworth for Starbucks and groceries.  At Safeway, we met an old Boeing buddy from the 80s who has a place in Plain. He bought Sonny's 1982 Yamaha many years ago. It was nice to catch up after all those years, but we had to get back to do the "wood rounds"!
